Wedding Photos

I received this wonderful email with photos from a customer in the UK who bought her wedding dress from us. I LOVE to see pics of my clothing in action! She's beautiful & they are a great looking couple! The photographers name is Paul Quagliana.

Dear Brigitte,

I just wanted to write to thank you for the beautiful red, embroidered 1950s dress that I wore on my wedding day in London on Sunday 24 February 2008. I couldn't believe it when it arrived; it was everything I had hoped for and more. What's more, it fitted me perfectly. My husband, Simon, was almost overwhelmed when he saw it, as I had kept it a complete surprise. I think it was down to fate that I found your website while searching for 1950s style dresses and that you were able to get the dress to me on time. I felt absolutely wonderful in it and it was perfect for a register office ceremony in the city. What a brilliant site you run; I find myself looking at it regularly and would definitely purchase a dress from you again for a special occasion.

With very best wishes and many thanks again.

A Few More Photos...

This early 70's sheep fur knit sweater we have fits into this style below. It looks great over dresses or jeans. Very versatile & chic!

This dress and jacket below look very vintage. She looks adorable mixing the 2 together. One of my favorite looks!

Sartorialist

One of my favorite blogs is the Sartorialist: http://thesartorialist.blogspot.com/

They're one of the best street fashion sites online. I've grabbed a few images of theirs showing people who mix vintage fashion with modern pieces. It's the way I like to wear my vintage.

These little Audrey jackets, as I like to call them, look adorable with so many things, from dresses to jeans.

I love it when men mix in vintage pieces too. Vintage clothing was so much more well made than todays clothing, unless you shop at Gucci or Prada of course. A rugged 50's leather jacket, some well worn 60's boots, or a great vintage tie worn with a modern suit can look fantastic. You don't need to wear head to toe 50's or 60's to wear vintage.

Of course, our specialty here at Posh Girl Vintage is adorable 50's & 60's Audrey style dresses! This girl looks beautiful in hers:

New Photo Shoot - Dresses

Hello,

I'm halfway done on the big photo shoot tonight. I'll be working through the weekend getting as many as possible up, but I thought you guys might like to see a few sneak peeks.

This 1st one, the 50's blond mink coat is amazing in person. It has an adorable , very Audrey Hepburn style, new look neck line. These vintage light colored minks are great when worn with jeans & a little tank, perfect for an afternoon shopping trip on Robertson blvd. Of course it's also perfect over a fancy dress at night. So versatile it's a great investment for any well dressed fashionista!

Then the 3 vintage party / cocktail dresses are all 1950's and so adorable. The beige lace one has tons on dangling beads & would be great to get married in. The black taffeta halter has a shelf bust & rhinestones in the sheer netting straps, & last but certainly not least, the teal sharkskin floral party dress is something else in person!!!

I photographed about 40 items so far. These are just a small sample. Mostly dresses, of course, but I threw in a black silk 20's cloche, a couple 70's handbags, & an adorable pair of Cherokee 1970's wedge heel shoes.

Vintage Listing Update Info.

Hello,

I just wanted to keep everyone up to date on what we're working on. We're swamped with orders from a couple of articles written about us so we're a bit behind in our listing of new items. We should be up to date by the end of the week.

We also have a big new photo shoot scheduled this week with new dresses!!! The 1st photos should be up early next week or hopefully by Fri.

Thank you,

Brigitte

New Vintage Handbags

I just started updating the vintage handbag and purse section at Posh Girl Vintage.com!

I just photographed a bunch of 60's & 70's leather hippie boho shoulder bags & satchels , I added some Coming Soon pictures too so you can see what I'm working on in case you need something specific.

There are a few new bags up for sale too like the big 50's pony fur tote handbag that's just amazing!

Also added is a leopard 50's handbag, a fox fur drawstring 40's purse / handbag, & an authentic Pucci 60's box purse made if silk.

Keep checking the site for new goodies. We're still photographing the new shipment of vintage clothing & dresses. Feel free to email us if you have any questions.

New Vintage Clothing - Plus Sized 50's Dresses

I just got in 2 adorable 1950's plus sized party dresses. I wanted to make a quick posting here because I get so many requests for larger sized dresses.

-Both are tea length. One is made of white chiffon with little red polka dots all over. It has a full skirt, no sleeves just straps, ruched bodice.

-The other is a pale pink silk with cream/ivory lace at the top, very full skirt, fitted bodice. Perfect for a wedding dress.

I don't know the exact sizes yet but I'm working on it. Both are in excellent condition as are 99% of my dresses.

I'll be photographing them this weekend.

Have a great night!
